About Me

Get to Know the Artist

Hello! My name is Deonne Rodriguez, also known for Deonne Rodriguez Art. I am originally from Nebraska, but now consider myself to be a full Kansas Citian after living here since the age of 13. (Go Big Red and Go Chiefs!)

Through the early years of my life, drawing took up much of my free time. Anything art related would get my attention. In elementary school, I was known for being a great drawer and even won a state-wide art competition in the fourth grade. Still, I never thought much of it.

Fast forward to High School, and I still was being told how wonderful of an artist I am. To me, it was just something I thought was normal. Then, with time I began to realize just how much I loved to take time on drawings and artwork, and that maybe this wasn’t as normal as I had thought. By junior year, I picked up the paintbrush.

My first paintings were simple, but I found so much happiness in showing them to other people and especially seeing them light up when I would gift them one. I have been working since then to make each painting better than the last and create art that will continue to make people smile.

Now, at age 23, I am finally stepping out into the art world so that I can bring others happiness and excitement with my paintings and art! Welcome to my art page!

My Inspirations

My older sister, Jordan, is the reason I ever began my art journey. She would draw incredible things when we were young, and I wanted to draw just like her. Looking up to her artwork as the younger sister gave me the inspiration to become better and persevere in my art endeavors.

I also draw much of my art inspiration from my Aunt Tami, without seeing her beautiful paintings while growing up, I would have never picked up the paintbrush myself.

My inspiration for my artwork itself is anything that can create happiness for the person who receives it. Whether it be a painting of someone's role model, favorite athlete, or favorite place, if it creates joy then I am inspired to paint it.

My Medium

My go-to medium is acrylic paints. Almost all of my artwork is done in this medium, but I am also able to draw, design, and create in almost any medium. I am always open to new ideas.
